Meet Our Director

Kelsey Anderson

I began playing volleyball in 5th grade and fell in love with the game. My 6th grade year was when I started playing travel ball, and it continued through my senior year. I played volleyball competitively for 8 years. I played at Habersham Central High School, where we went 30-5 during my senior season. We went 22-0 before losing in regional play and remained undefeated at home. The 30-5 record is the best in school history. I played travel ball for eight years at North Georgia Aces. We were four-time undefeated tournament champions, three-time Lil Big South tournament champions, and SRVA regional champions over the course of my time playing there.

When graduation came, I went to college at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. I played intramural sand volleyball for fun. I felt like something was missing, so I moved back home after my fall semester. That next fall, my coaching career began. I became the JV assistant at my alma mater and developed a more profound love and passion for the game. I then returned to school and completed an undergraduate degree in sports psychology. Fast forward to now, I am the JV head coach at Flowery Branch High School and owner/director of Empower Volleyball Club.

Coaching is more than a career to me. It is a calling. It was one of the most rewarding professions. Developing the player into a better volleyball player and a better person is a crucial part of my philosophy. My philosophy is to have a team culture that encourages development on and off the court. Building a team and celebrating the success of every team member, no matter how small, is a number one priority of mine. I believe in pouring into these young girls everything I have. Volleyball is much more than a sport, and I aim to show these girls that being part of Empower Volleyball Club is bigger than just the game. I believe in empowering young athletes through sports.
